Good service. Yummy western chinese food. Good hearty food, hit's the spot when the family is hungry!

Staff is nice. Food is average. Wish they had more variety in their daily specials, like more soup choices.

Everyone was friendly but all the food was essentially coated in grease but the coffee was ok. I wouldn't come here again.

So bland, I've never had such a tasteless and over priced burger. I could have gotten a better burger at any other fast food chain. The price was also exorbitant considering the lack of quality. I guess they're just used to the mild palates of the elderly to do anything with their food that might add flavour.
Oh and why is the orange juice so small that I've seen sippy cups bigger?! -

Now THIS is what I'm talking about!
Just like the little corner stores, Vancouver has been losing the great institution of simple little family run cafes that pride themselves of their Western(Canadian) and Chinese Food selection.
Since I lost 49 Grill many years ago at Main & 49th and Eddie's Restaurant on Fraser Street many, many years ago, I've been constantly searching for a nice little such diner that serves a simple burger, soda and maybe even a milkshake.
I found it with E&B Restaurant on Kingsway across from the McDonald's at Victoria until it shuttered breaking my heart only to be replaced by some hipster place.
The search continued.
Laura's Coffee Shop doesn't serve milkshakes, and their burgers are a little dry.
Truck stop Cafe almost had it all, but, their bugers also, a little dry.
Master Chef on Kingsway was hit and miss, but more hits until they closed last year.
The Mayflower was a heartbreaker, because they got it, but, they're gone now.
Jacks Diner on Kingsway was great... but, they're gone too.
I was hoping Joe's Grill on Davie would be a good replacement, but, again, you can't show up an hour before closing or they're chase you out not wanting your business.
Today, I tried Cosy Inn Cafe on Dunbar.
The burger was prefect. I don't think they serve milkshakes, which is a REAL shame... but, I don't know for sure.
I wasn't a huge fan of the fries wither, but, it was the burger that was the star here.
The service was prompt ans super friendly.
This is a no-frills establishment. Which is great. The crowd was blue collar, and more importantly, NO HIPSTERS.
I also noticed that the place closed at 4PM (too bad, if it were 24 hours, I'd never leave)... and it was 330PM and more customers kept coming in, and unlike Joe's Grill, THEY WEREN'T CHASED OUT... they were actually WELCOMED!
Vancouver needs more Cosy Inn Cafes... but, this one will do me just fine!
